Chracoal

A relatively new undertaking for SHI, charcoal production began in 2008. 

With many large kilns operating continuously, Sao Hill aims to become a major producer of charcoal in Tanzania, as currently the majority comes from South Africa. A briquetting plant is being installed at Sao Hill that will make it one of East Africa's largest charcoal briquetting factories, and first to utilize plantation forest. Charcoal is a desirable clean and efficient source of energy.
